MBR: BIOLOGICAL AND MEMBRANE TREATMENT IN A SINGLE SYSTEM
The Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) combines biological and physical separation processes, achieving excellent final effluent quality, ideal for reuse and strict environmental standards.
MBR: MAXIMUM EFFICIENCY IN BIOLOGICAL WASTEWATER TREATMENT
The MBR (Membrane Bioreactor) is one of the most advanced technologies on the market for treating industrial and sanitary effluents. The system combines the conventional biological process of activated sludge with MBR membrane filtration, guaranteeing extremely high efficiency in the removal of organic matter, suspended solids and microorganisms.
The MBR system combines performance, compactness and superior quality of the treated effluent, and is widely used in industries looking to reuse water, reduce their footprint and have a low environmental impact.
HOW DOES THE MBR SYSTEM WORK?
The membrane biological reactor (MBR) is an evolution of traditional wastewater treatment plants (WWTP). In it, microorganisms degrade the organic load in an aerated tank, and the sludge is separated from the clarified effluent by means of biological reactor membranes, which replace the use of secondary decanters.
This combination creates a membrane reactor capable of producing very high quality effluent, ideal for reuse or disposal in accordance with strict environmental standards.
THE MBR PROCESS CONSISTS OF:
AERATED BIOLOGICAL REACTOR
Where the degradation of organic matter takes place.
MEMBRANE BIOREACTOR MODULES
Responsible for filtering and separating the treated effluent.
MEMBRANE AERATION SYSTEM
This reduces the accumulation of solids and increases the efficiency of the process.

MAIN BENEFITS OF THE MBR SYSTEM
HIGHER QUALITY TREATED EFFLUENT, IDEAL FOR INDUSTRIAL REUSE
SIGNIFICANT REDUCTION IN FLOOR SPACE, AS NO DECANTERS ARE NEEDED
LOWER SLUDGE PRODUCTION AND MORE STABLE OPERATION
COMPLETE AUTOMATION AND HIGH OPERATIONAL RELIABILITY
MBR effluent treatment represents a technological leap forward compared to conventional methods, offering gains in efficiency, economy and sustainability. Its differentials include:
